User Enrollment

The steps to enroll a device in SimpleMDM via User Enrollment are:

  1. Create a new enrollment profile under the Enrollments section. We typically recommend using a Group Enrollment for User Enrollments.
  2. Set 'User Enrollment' to "Yes".
  3. Save the profile.
  4. Enter the enrollment URL into Safari on your device (or send the enrollment link directly to the device and have the user tap the link).
  5. You will be prompted to enter a Managed Apple ID. Enter your Managed Apple ID username/email address (from Apple Business Manager) here and tap 'Continue'.
  6. Tap 'Download Enrollment Profile'.
  7. Safari will ask if you want to allow the configuration profile to be downloaded. Select "Allow".
  8. Open the Settings app on the device.
  9. At the top of the Settings menu, find the option labeled "Enroll in SimpleMDM" and tap it.
  10. When prompted, select "Enroll My iPhone".
  11. Enter the password for your Managed Apple ID.

After entering your password, your device should be authenticated and the user enrollment should be complete.

Note: User Enrollment is only available for iOS 13+ and macOS 10.15+.
