How do I renew my Apple DEP token?

To renew your Apple Automated Enrollment/DEP token in SimpleMDM:

  1. In SimpleMDM navigate to Devices > Enrollments.
  2. Click the name of the Automated Enrollment you wish to edit.
  3. Click 'Update Token' at the top-right corner of the page.
  4. Login to Apple Business or Apple School Manager: https://business.apple.com/ or https://school.apple.com 
    1. Please note: you must sign in with the same Managed Apple Account listed on the Automated Enrollment to renew the token. If you no longer have access to this account you will want to create a new Automated Enrollment in SimpleMDM using a Managed Apple Account you have access to.
  5. Click on Devices in the upper middle of the page.
  6. Click on Management Services in the left hand sidebar.
  7. Under "Device Management Services" select the service that corresponds with the SimpleMDM Automated Enrollment that you want to renew the token for (this should match the "Server Name" listed in the DEP Info Tab of the target Automated Enrollment).
  8. There should be an Ellipsis (…) in the mid-upper right of the Managed Service page; click on it to reveal a dropdown menu.
  9. Select "Download Token" from the dropdown menu to download an save the updated token.
  10. Go back to SimpleMDM and select the "Choose File" button, select the updated token, and select "Upload" to upload the updated token.
  11. Verify that the updated token was accepted from the DEP Info tab on your Automated Enrollment, or by going to Devices > Enrollments to ensure that there are no listed errors on your target Automated Enrollment.

Note: Automated Enrollments/DEP tokens must renewed using the same Managed Apple Account that was used to generate them originally. This Managed Apple Account is displayed in the 'Admin ID' field shown in the DEP Info Tab of any given Automated Enrollment.
